Testo alternativo

The Val D’Orcia and the Maremma are dominated by an ancient extinct volcano: Monte Amiata.

One of the parts of Tuscany still unknown to mass tourism, it has a real, natural beauty and is covered with beech and chestnut trees. Nevertheless, Monte Amiata offers excitement all year round.

In winter, with 15 ski lifts, 4 at the summit: Prato di Contessa, Prato di Macinaie, Marsiliana and Cantore refuge.

In autumn, with its Chestnut harvest, wine, good food and  the pleasant warmth of the nearby spas at Bagno San Filippo (where, a short way into the wood, nature lovers can find small waterfalls of hot water and natural pools to immerse themselves freely) and Bagno Vignoni between Castiglione D’Orcia and San Quirico D’Orcia in the Orcia Valley.

In spring, with the re-awakening of nature.

In summer,  with numerous historical / cultural events and appointments. There are many small towns and villages to visit, such as Vivo D’Orcia, where you can stop to taste the local cuisine.
